Duties Include:
- Responsible for taking a project from concept to execution.
- Print Buying, Traffic and Print Production Management are all components of my position.
- Oversaw the single largest project that Periscope creates, the Arctic Cat parts, garments & accessories catalog. This 140 page, 2 language, 3 version catalog was designed, photographed, retouched, assembled and written in-house. Responsible for project/production planning, timeline creation and follow-up, getting print bids, contracting for foreign language translation, estimating and coordinating with all departments to ensure communication and strict adherence to timeline, as well as press okays. Ultimately responsible for delivering a high quality printed piece on time and on budget.
- Other projects have been magazine and newspaper ads, catalogs, newsletters, brochures, CDs, direct mail pieces and outdoor advertising.
1998-2000: Production Coordinator, Casual Living Magazine, Minneapolis, MN.
A monthly retail trade magazine serving retailers, manufacturers and suppliers selling outdoor furnishings and accessories. Total page count varies per issue, from 46 to 166. Owned by Bolger Publications, Minneapolis.
Duties Include:
- Responsible for solicitation & management of ad & editorial material.
- Project management: Took a myriad of projects from conception to completion through strict adherence to deadlines, great attention to detail and coordination of details. For example, organizing our attendance & exhibition at trade shows, including travel arrangements, magazine distribution, modeling agency coordination, photographer supervision, booth coverage, booth graphics, freight, etc.
- Photography: Responsible for digital photography of our Annual Fabric Preview, color correction in Photoshop & placement of photos in Quark; coordination of freelance photography. Photo was used for the cover of another trade publication.
- Proofing and copy editing.
- Design & build ads using Quark & Photoshop.
- Use both Mac & PC platforms; proficient in Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro, Powerpoint, Netscape.
- Responsible for circulation issues, reader service fulfillment, classified ads.
